I'm a big city girl with big city dreams. A writer, photographer, window shopper, and a bit of a vagabond. I take photos, play dress up, and am inspired by what inspires others. These are my finds, loves, and where I share. Oh! And Jesus ♥s me.

She is the sky that holds the clouds
She’s the lady of the house
A blind believer in all I dare to be
There’s no safer place I found
Than the shoulder of her white night gown
Oh, I have got the best and the worst of her in me
Los Angeles, I miss you. I love you.

“When life curves to the left unexpectedly, it can be hard to turn left and embrace the new direction. But at every angle, life offers opportunity. Good or bad, heartbreak, challenge or a time of bliss, I am thankful for the good that comes with every experience; the people I meet, every smile that is shared – no matter how few, and even the sweat and tears that continue for a time after. Because they condition me to be a better me. And I am better prepared when the curve finally veers right.”
Dear friends,
Today should not be an excuse to hold your family closer - every day should. Because tomorrow everything could change, be it any tragedy or illness. I love and think of my family daily. Let this day remind you how fortunate we are to be sitting here watching documentaries, interviews, and video footage on our televisions 11 years later. To not have had to endure and experience what these unknowingly brave people had to venture through, many paying the ultimate price. September 11th is not about war or race; revenge or enemies. This day not only changed a skyline but also our hearts forever. And that’s my 9/11 post for the day.
Never forget. ♥
Love,
Afton

Truth.
Also, the reality that we’re not much different. Anyone: me and my significant other, me and whoever’s listening to the song.

“Life is like a box of crayons. Most people are the 8-color boxes, but what you’re really looking for are the 64-color boxes with the sharpeners on the back. I fancy myself to be a 64-color box, though I’ve got a few missing. It’s ok though, because I’ve got some more vibrant colors like periwinkle at my disposal. I have a bit of a problem though in that I can only meet the 8-color boxes. Does anyone else have that problem? I mean there are so many different colors of life, of feeling, of articulation.. so when I meet someone who’s an 8-color type.. I’m like, “hey girl, magenta!” and she’s like, “oh, you mean purple!” and she goes off on her purple thing, and I’m like, “no - I want magenta!” - John Mayer”

Oh Whiskeytown…
Four years later and Matt’s still melting my heart. This is how the world should be.
This is exactly how it should be:
I first laid eyes on June Carter when I was 18, on a Dyess High School senior class trip to the Grand Ole Opry. I’d liked what I heard of her on the radio, and I really liked what I saw of her from the balcony at the Ryman Auditorium. She was great. She was gorgeous. She was a star. I was smitten, seriously so. The next time I saw her was 6 years later, again at the Opry, but this time backstage because by then I was a performer too. I walked over to her and came right out with it: “You and I are going to get married someday.” June is formidable; she’s my solid rock. She’s my spark plug. When there are people to talk to and my shyness is welling up, she holds my hand. June always sees that I’ve got the right thing to eat, if I’ll agree to eat it. She likes the same kind of movies I do, and the same kind of TV shows. She’s got charm, she’s got brains, she’s got style, she’s got class. She’s silver, she’s gold, she’s got jewelry, she’s got furniture, she’s got china….she’s got a black belt in shopping. She’s a vital performer, and it’s vital for me to have her on my concerts. I just don’t want to travel if she can’t come with me. She almost always does. She’s my life’s companion, and she’s a sweet companion. She and I have become so very close, so intimate. Whenever I face a professional decision, I always put it to her because I know she’ll be both objective and honest. She’s never judgmental. She’s become everything that wife should be, in my mind. We sleep together, we pray together, we travel together, we work together, and we’ve both found our particular place where we totally belong in every avenue of endeavor. —Johnny Cash, From “Cash: The Autobiography”

Today is my cute mom Kimberly Anne’s birthday. She is my biggest inspiration, my lifeline, and the biggest reason I am who I am today. Not to mention, she can cook some mean fried chicken and mashed potatoes. S’rsly.
I know it’s another Beagle picture…and I’m not sorry. C’MON!
